Intelligent control of energy systems
The Model City Mannheim project provides an energy Internet which intelligently controls and regulates the entire electricity system, from power generation via the grid to power consumption. This allows quite different actors to work together and provide a common energy marketplace. The project’s vision is to overcome the current separation of functions. As a participant in the energy marketplace, one should be able to be a consumer or producer, energy dealer or distribution network operator, provider of energy storage capacity or energy services, or a billing services provider - or even several of these at the same time.
